Be happy, healthy and Sexy. Achieve everything you desire by achieving an ideal body weight with the support you need.

Strict diets and intensive exercise regimes may work initially, but they do NOT support your body’s hormonal systems that lead to optimal health and will never have lasting effects. This kind of weight loss program starves your body, slows down your metabolism and thyroid hormone production, increases your body’s stress hormones and causes hormonal havoc.

Long-term weight loss is about increasing metabolism, being healthy (physically, emotionally, mentally and socially) so your body will let go of the fat, obtaining and retaining muscle mass. This is achieved by healthy nutrient dense foods, regular enjoyable exercise regimes that are sustainable and a support network to help you achieve your goals.

When treating the hormones WE can’t leave out the thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormones effect stress hormones, effect sex hormones and visa versa. It is impossible to address one hormonal system without addressing or affecting the other. The thyroid hormones are so critical to overall health as they affect the way in which your body metabolises food and nutrients and turns them to energy. Some women suffer from hypothyroid symptoms but pathology does not yet indicate disease is present, or there is an auto-immune process which is occurring. This auto-immune condition is destroying the thyroid but not yet enough to effect the thyroid hormone enough to warrant medication. Naturopathy can have the greatest impact at this step, to correct the immune dysfunction and destruction of the thyroid gland itself, which ultimately will see an improvement of symptoms while addressing the cause.

Symptoms of Hypothyroidism/ Hashimoto’s Disease (Auto-immune thyroiditis):

  • Weight gain
  • Heavy, irregular or prolonged menstrual periods
  • Fertility problems & increased risk of miscarriage
  • Low energy, lethargic, tired and sleeping a lot
  • Cold intolerance
  • Constipation
  • Coarse, thinning hair and brittle nails
  • Dry and/ or pale skin
  • Sore/ weak muscles
  • Hoarse or croaky voice
  • Depression
  • Poor memory & concentration
  • A slow heart rate

Symptoms of Hyperthyroidism/ Grave’s Disease

  • Weight loss despite increased appetite (some will gain weight though)
  • Having infrequent periods & infertility
  • Increased heart rate and/ or palpitations
  • Feeling nervous, irritable or emotional (possible tremor)
  • Poor sleeping habits
  • Feeling tired
  • Muscle weakness
  • Loss of hair or hair thinning
  • Shortness of breath, especially when exercising
  • Possible swelling of the thyroid gland (goitre)
  • Diarrhoea or more frequent bowel movements

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, lets get to the core of the problem and return your hormonal health around so you can be the Vibrant, Happy, Healthy, Sexy woman you WANT to be.

We all know what if feels like to feel stressed. And we all suffer from stress daily: sitting in traffic, working in stressful situations, deadlines, paying bills, difficult relationships, challenging children and the list goes on. But what people don’t realise is how the body produces a stress response to things such as: bad diet, insulin resistance, irregular blood sugar balance, food intolerances, illness of every kind. When the body is constantly sending out stress hormones to help your body cope, this system eventually tires and it takes down all the other hormonal systems; such as thyroid hormones and sex hormones.

What I’m trying to say is, it is difficult to have happy hormones, when your body is in a constant state of stress, the knowing kind and the unknowing kind. All underlying causes of stress need to be addressed for you to return to YOU again.

If you suffer from any of the following conditions your stress hormones are exhausted:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression
  • Insomnia

If you suffer from any of the following symptoms you are probably adrenally fatigued:

  • Worsening of PMS and low libido
  • Slow starter in the mornings – wake up tired and exhausted
  • Difficulty in falling asleep
  • Call yourself a ‘night person’
  • Crave sugar and salty foods (sometime uncontrollable)
  • Feel drowsy often
  • Tendency to need sunglasses
  • Feel faint or dizzy especially from sitting to standing
  • Abnormal weight gain around the abdomen
  • Feeling tired and wired most of the time
  • Fatigued and lack stamina
  • Inability to stay focused, racing thoughts, lack concentration
  • Lack ability to cope with really stressful situations
  • Lowered immune response – recurrent infections or long recovery time when sick

The root to all health is healthy digestion. Dysfunction in the gastrointestinal tract will have a negative impact on:

  • Immune system health – as 70% of our immune system lies about the gut
  • Mood – as 70% of the bodies serotonin is produced in the gut
  • Detoxification – as the body relies on elimination and the liver to detoxify
  • Energy levels – you must digest and absorb efficiently for your body to turn your food into energy
  • Thyroid function – your active thyroid hormone is converted in the liver and by the good gut flora
  • Health on all levels – your body is made and repaired the the nutrients in which you absorb

So Healthy, Happy Hormones require a healthy digestive system and addressing dysfunction or disease in the gastrointestinal tract is of prime important.

Suffering from any other the following digestive dysfunctions will greatly affect not just hormonal health but overall health and longevity:

  • IBS
  • Constipation, hard to pass or infrequent bowel motions
  • Diarrhoea, loose or frequent bowel motions
  • Food intolerances
  • Bloating
  • Crohn’s disease
