Healthy food these days is confusing. For years we have been fed information that saturated fats are bad, the low-fat foods of all kinds are good. We have moved from beautiful, whole foods that nature gives us to packaged, processed like-food. Even the food that nature gives us is in bad shape with farming and pesticide practices. We can’t just look at healthy food for face value, the nutrition and healthiness of foods comes down to how it was grown, produced and what it was fed. Could it get anymore confusing?
How have we come so far with technology and advancement, but gone so far behind in health. We only have to look at the increase in chronic disease to know that something does not measure up. It is disappointing that we’ve lost touch with what healthy food actually is.
Here, I have provided you with a quick overview of healthy foods to eat and what foods to avoid. This is skimming the surface of food, but its a great introduction. For greater in-depth information about the food that provides health and wellbeing, consider purchasing Amanda Howe’s book ‘Know Your Flow’ here.
